Southwest Georgia Health Care awarded NCQA PCMH Recognition
Southwest Georgia Health Care (SWGHC) was recently awarded NCQA PCMH Level 3 Recognition for 2 of their pediatric offices. SWGHC has achieved PCMH Level 3 Recognition for 14 offices thus far. There are 3 remaining offices which are not yet certified. SWGHC hopes to start their application processes during the middle of the year. SWGHC CEO, Ajay Gehlot conducted a presentation on PCMH at the Georgia Rural Health Association (GRHA) Annual Conference in Savannah earlier this year. Gehot demonstrated examples of clinical quality data 1 year before and after PCMH recognition and its financial benefits.
SWGHC is also guiding Tift Regional Medical Center Physician Network on PCMH recognition. Gehot and his staff presented information to their board of directors and clinical leadership. The hospital currently has 250 primary care physicians and 300 beds. In addition, SWGHC is working with other GAPHC members seeking to implement a PCMH model and improve quality of care. We congratulate SWGHC clinical staff for their continued efforts to bring quality health care services to the underserved communities of Southwest Georgia.
