Postponement – GPCA Annual Conference – Letter from Sarah Lang – President on Behalf of the Conference Committee

It is with great regret, the GPCA Conference Committee and GPCA Executive Director Duane A. Kavka have decided to cancel the 2021 GPCA Annual Conference in Alpharetta, GA. With the continued uprise of the COVID Delta Variant, we carefully weighed meeting safety protocols and our duties to the Association’s members, staff, and partners. We are confident that this is the only sensible decision available to us.

Anticipating and preparing for this conference involved the time, talent, and creativity of many of our staff, board members, volunteers, speakers, exhibitors, and event partners. We are incredibly grateful for this and deeply disappointed not to hold the meeting.
We recognize the significance of this decision. The Annual Conference brings us together every year as we celebrate our achievements and explore the future of Health Care in Georgia.

With this cancellation, we realized we had some essential sessions we would have covered at the conference; we are preparing to offer a few of these sessions virtual over the next few months, for example, FQHC Board Member training, Pharmacy, and Leadership.

We will continue throughout this pandemic to connect, exchange information, and strengthen our community in the absence of face-to-face meetings.

GPCA is proud to recognize the work, commitment, and sacrifices of our CHCs, their staff, and our partners that have pulled together during these challenging times to provide their vital services to the greatest extent to our communities. We thank you!

We remain committed to you and are here to support you in any way possible. May these challenging and uncertain times find us working even closer together so that our communities, our Association, and our families will all thrive. We will continue to update you on any additional information we receive.

Regards,

Sarah E. Lang, GPCA Board Chair
